If you are arriving on a bright sunny day, your holiday begins with a panoramic view of the Himalayan range from your Drukair seat, where you’ll be greeted by Mt. Everest and Mt. Kanchenjunga, and our very own Mt. Jomolhari and Mt. Jichu Drakey. Since you intent to fly in from Kathmandu, you’ll have to make sure you request to be seated on the left side of the aisle aboard the plane to enjoy great views of the Himalayan ranges while you descend into Paro airport.
Upon arrival you’ll be received by our friendly professional guides who will help you settle into your comfortable car. Drive to the capital city Thimphu.
In the evening visit the Memorial Chorten Stupa and the Tashichhodzong – the fortress that is now the government’s central administration headquarters, and also the offices of the King and the Prime Minister. Welcome dinner at the Babesa village restaurant to enjoy authentic Bhutanese cuisines. Overnight in select hotel.
Driveup to Buddha point and visit Buddha Dordenma-a gigantic statue Sakyamuni Buddha.The statue is filled with over one hundred smaller statues,each of which like the Buddha itself, but made of bronze and gilded with gold. At the height of 59.5 metres, it is one of the tallest Buddha statues in the world. We can take a very easy hike through pine forests and if you are interested we can have a flag hoisting ceremony to send out some prayers in the world. Here we can organise a pinic luch for the whole group in the midst of the pine woods and spectacular views. Continue on what is Thimphu brand new and one of the best nature trails that passes through pristine blue-pine forests and hike to Changangkha monastery. The hike of 5 km is a pleasant way to get a feeling of Bhutan.
Your guide from Bhutan Travel Club will take you to some of the treasures of the capital – Visit the NationalFolk Heritage Museum, the Zorig Chusum school of 13 traditional arts/crafts, the Textile Museum, the Bhutan Post Office to see the rich collection of stamps and philatelic history. Our guests can make stamps with their faces on it and send postcards to loved ones.
Continue to the Changlimithang Stadium to watch locals enjoying the national sport of Bhutan – Archery – which is played in a traditional style over a 120m long range and always filled with fun and festive moods. Visit the Crafts Bazaar where proud artisans greet you with their crafts. The bazaar is dedicated to local artisans only. Enjoy a fabulous dinner at one of Thimphu’s best restaurant. Our good friend and owner of the restaurant is a very friendly person and will definitely add a personal touch to your meal.

Drive to the Dochula Pass (3140). Situated atop the pass at the backdrop of fluttering prayer flags is the Druk Wangyal Chortens, a collection of 108 chortens (stupas) that was built to exemplify the greatness of the Fourth King. If you would like to hike, we recommend the Lungtsezelkha hike – another lovely and moderate hike that passes through Rhododendron forests and alpine vegetation which wil be in full bloom at this time of the year. Here you might come across some Yaks as we often spot them. It starts from Dochula pass – and climbs upto the peak where the Lungtsezekha temple stands at 3800m. From here, you can see the great Himalayan peaks of northern Bhutan as well as valleys of southern Bhutan.
Hike back to Dochula, and continue to Paro.Visit Kyichu Lhakhang – believed to be the oldest Buddhist temple in Bhutan built during the 08th century. Someofthe mosttreasuredcollectionsofarts,artefacts,textiles, stamps,statues,etc. Since today is Saturday, you can visit a local farmer’s market to observe local lifestyles.
Visit a farmhouse to soak in a herbal hot-stone bath which is known to be therapeutic and helps ailments related to joints and muscle aches, besides simply soothing your mind and body. Perfect to unwind and goes well with the Red Panda local beer. This is a complimentary value-added experience without any hidden costs. Proceed to your resort.
Finally we have saved the best for the last. You finally get to experience Bhutan’s most valued attraction, the famous Taktshang monastery –also k nown as– Tiger’s nest monastery. The temple was built by a prominent historical figure named Gyaltse Tenzin Rabgye in 1692 whose reincarnation is now a young teenager and already a prominent figure in the clergy. Your guide will complement the experience with its story.
On the way back you will visit the Drugyal Dzong fortress from where Peak of Jumolhari ‘Mountain of the Goddess’ can be seen on a clear day. (7,329 mts/24,029 ft.).
Explore the town in the evening on foot, and visit handicrafts shops along the street to appreciate Bhutanese craftsmanship and Art works.
